Hormone Replacement Therapy for Women

Hormone Replacement Therapy for Women

As women age, they experience a decline in estrogen, which fortunately, can easily be treated with uniquely developed natural Hormone Replacement Therapy for Women. Estrogen is the main female sex hormone which plays a key role in the menstrual cycle and reproductive system.

An imbalance in estrogen can lead to a range of health problems such as:

  • Fatigue
  • Mood swings
  • Anxiety or depression
  • Sleep disorders

But the most noticeable changes a woman experiences as a result of waning estrogen include:

  • Worsening PMS
  • Irregular periods
  • Vaginal dryness and atrophy leading to painful intercourse
  • Breast tenderness

And, of course, those searing, menacing hot flashes that make you stand in front of an open fridge in what is only a temporary effort to cool off. Most women would blame menopause. Well, they’re partially right. The process of a loss of estrogen is gradual and is described in three stages:

  • Perimenopause or “menopause transition.” Perimenopause can begin eight to 10 years before menopause, when the ovaries gradually produce less estrogen. It usually starts in a woman’s 40s, but can start in the 30s as well. Perimenopause lasts up until menopause, the point when the ovaries stop releasing eggs. In the last one to two years of perimenopause, the drop in estrogen accelerates. At this stage, many women can experience menopause symptoms. Women are still having menstrual cycles during this time, and can still get pregnant.
  • Menopause. (This is the phase you’d probably kill to do without). Menopause is the point when a woman no longer has menstrual periods. At this stage, the ovaries have stopped releasing eggs and producing most of their estrogen. Menopause is diagnosed when a woman has gone without a period for 12 consecutive months.
  • Post menopause. (Yes, there is such a thing) These are the years after menopause. During this stage, menopausal symptoms, such as hot flashes, can ease for many women. But, as a result of a lower level of estrogen, postmenopausal women are at increased risk for a number of health conditions such as osteoporosis and heart disease.

This is where hormone replacement therapy for women can come to the rescue. Hormone Replacement Therapy for Women can relieve and sometimes even reverse some of the symptoms women experience, by bringing the levels of female hormones back to normal.

So what are “pellets” exactly? Hormones are delivered to patients in the form of pellets painlessly placed just under the skin as an in-office procedure. Pellets contain bioidentical hormones developed and custom-compounded according to exacting and strict standards as laid down by the FDA. They are uniformly tested for consistency and purity and come with our guarantee that our patients are being provided the best, safest and highest quality hormone replacement pellets. And because these pellets remain in the body, they can provide the correct dosing the body needs throughout the day. Think “time-release”.

Yes, there are many women who experience fatigue and low libido to name a few symptoms who when replaced with the right hormones like testosterone notice a huge improvement in their symptoms.

It’s about a patient making an informed choice. Researched and developed since 1939 in the US and Europe, there is a myriad of data to support the ‘long term’ safety and efficacy of hormones delivered by pellet implants. BHRT hormone pellet therapy has been used in 5 continents and has been studied for over 80 years. There are hundreds of studies available to practitioners with regards to the benefits and efficacy of BHRT testosterone and estradiol hormone pellet therapy. Unfortunately most practitioners have not read them and base their opinions solely on one or a few traditional “HRT” studies. Currently in the US, there are many physicians still opposed to BHRT estrogen and testosterone related hormone pellet therapy, based on traditional “HRT” studies. For instance, one commonly quoted study called the Women’s Health Initiative, showed a small increased risk of breast cancer in women who were treated with medroxyprogesterone (a synthetic HRT), which has been shown in other studies to increase risk of breast cancer. Recent studies regarding BHRT testosterone and estradiol hormone pelleting specifically however show no clear increase risk of cancer or cardiovascular disease. In fact, numerous recent studies on BHRT testosterone and estradiol hormone pellet replacement show a decreased risk of cardiovascular disease and hormone related cancers in men and women. Furthermore, low testosterone levels in both men and women are associated with a higher occurrence of cancer and disease of many types.
