AESTHETIC SERVICES; LET TIME MARCH ON WITHOUT YOU
Age happens. As you get older, regrettably, so does your skin. A characteristic feature of older skin is the progressive loss of the primary structural and functional proteins in the skin: collagen and elastin. Collagen promotes skin firmness, while elastin enables skin rebound and elasticity, and these proteins work in concert to enable skin resilience and provide a fresh, smooth appearance. While the production of these essential structural proteins naturally declines with age, especially during menopause, the rate of decline can be greatly accelerated by both internal and environmental stressors, such as UV exposure, mental stress, poor diet, and smoking. When skin cells are broken down from these stressors, the fragmented proteins can accumulate in the skin and inhibit the ability of skin cells to regenerate new collagen and elastin. Think sunken eyes, loose skin, and puckering areas. Now think “aesthetic services” and youthful, “boy, you don’t look your age” skin.
LET EVERYONE THINK YOU’RE A NATURAL BEAUTY
As we age, it’s common to explore skin revitalization and rejuvenation options to keep a natural, youthful, well-rested appearance. There’s a way to stay or even become younger looking with aesthetic services like neurotoxins and dermal fillers. The results are gradual and subtle and can be precisely targeted and customized. They focus on specific areas or concerns rather than making broad, sweeping changes. They aim to enhance rather than create an overly altered look that looks like you’ve gone under the knife. With neurotoxins and dermal fillers, it just looks like you’ve got good genes.
NEUROTOXINS; WRINKLES WRINKLES GO AWAY
Botox® , Dysport® And Xeomin® . Pretty sure you’ve heard of them all, but as to how they are all different, maybe we can help here. Neurotoxins block the nerve impulse that controls muscle movement, thereby temporarily restricting the ability to contract the facial muscles. When those nerve signals are interrupted, the affected muscle is temporarily paralyzed or frozen. Without movement of these selected muscles in the face, certain wrinkles may be softened, reduced, or even removed. Untreated muscles still work normally, so you can continue to express feelings naturally.
BOTOX
Botox got its FDA approval in 1989. For many people, it’s still considered the standard and it’s helped a ton of faces face age more than gracefully. There are three main areas of the face where Botox is injected to help bring back more youthful skin:
- Forehead wrinkles: if we are going to rank the different things people don’t want to see while facing the mirror, forehead wrinkles are likely high on the list. These wrinkles do not discriminate. They can affect both men and women. They can also appear on the foreheads of people who are still in their early 20s. There are dynamic wrinkles and static wrinkles. Dynamic wrinkles appear as a result of muscle motion including habitual movements and expressing your emotions. Static wrinkles happen when collagen, elastin, and fats decrease, gravity pulls down your skin.
- Crows Feet: these small lines and wrinkles form from tiny muscles contracting in the outer corner of your eyes as you experience the many different emotions that influence your facial expressions– laughter, stress, grief, and sadness. They usually start as noticeable lines that form when you smile and your eyes naturally squint. Over time, these fine lines may start to appear on your face when you’re not smiling or even when you’re at rest.
- Laugh (or smile) Lines: laugh lines or smile lines appear around the outer corners of the mouth and eyes. The wrinkles are more prominent when a person smiles or laughs, which is where laugh lines got their name from. As you get older, any lines or wrinkles you have can deepen or multiply in number. Laugh? You could cry.
DYSPORT
Dysport® is very similar to Botox, but has a smaller molecule and can diffuse to a larger area. It is primarily used for correcting frown lines. However, As a result of aging and other factors, frown lines may become deeper and more visible even when not frowning, giving a mistaken impression of being angry. (Who wouldn’t be angry when they show up?).
XEOMIN
The main distinction between Xeomin and Botox is how they’re manufactured. Xeomin is a purified form of botulinum toxin type A, while Botox is composed of a complex mixture of proteins. Essentially, this means that Xeomin doesn’t have any additives, while Botox does. This is why Xeomin is nicknamed the “naked injectable.” Some studies say that Xeomin shows up sooner and lasts longer.
DERMAL FILLERS; PLUMP, FILL, TIGHTEN, LIFT, SOFTEN, SMOOTH, CONTOUR (COULD IT GET ANY BETTER?)
Dermal fillers like Juvéderm® can help restore lost volume and even stimulate collagen production. They can help correct facial wrinkles and folds in your mid and lower face and fine lines like marionette lines. Marionette lines, also called melomental folds, are creases that extend from the corners of your mouth to your chin. The name comes from marionette string puppets, which have pronounced vertical lines in the same place. Marionette lines typically appear around age 40. But you may see faint or subtle lines at the corners of your mouth in your 20s and 30s. Dermal fillers work immediately and subtly to take it all on.
