Dysport, which is the other neuromodulator we use at Thrive is also an injectable botulinum toxin. Botox and Dysport are very similar in their ability to temporarily improve the look of moderate to severe wrinkles. Dysport was introduced in the spring of 2009, and was developed to compete with the highly popular Botox®. It has a smaller-sized molecule so its unit measurement or dose, is different than Botox, making it a more cost-effective alternative. Additionally, it is mostly used for moderate to severe cases of wrinkles only.
The most common areas for treatment are:
- Glabella or frown lines – the area in between the eyebrows
- Forehead lines
- Crow’s Feet
- Vertical lip lines
